Design Method of Non-circular Geared Five-bar Linkage for Passing Pre-designated Position Points

In order to solve the limitation of cylindrical geared linkage in trajectory realization, this paper make the non-circular gear pair and double crank hinge five-bar as closed combination, and to probe the feasibility and method of designing non-circular gear based on the given position points in five-bar linkage trajectory region. The discrete rotation angle sequences of non-circular gear pair are solved based on inverse kinematics theory of five-bar linkage; the cubic spline interpolation is used to solve the rotation angles function of driving and driven gear, and then the non-circular gear pair is designed. The results indicates that if the rotation angle sequences of non-circular gear pair solved from the given motion requirement can meet progressive increase relationship, and then the corresponding non-circular gear pair can be designed, the designed non-circular geared five-bar linkage has high precision in realizing passing the pre-designated position points.
